Notes

Hassocks is a beautiful village located just to the north of the South Downs in Sussex near Brighton. When the city becomes noisy I just jump on a train to this little village with my sketchbook. It is a view of the village from Wolstonbury Hill near the Hurstpier point. I have used my artistic freedom to alter the view for a better composition. The houses are actually made of bricks but I put some light colours. Behind there is a little hill blocking the view of the valley so I just changed altered that too! There were horses and cattle on the distant field so I portrayed a few of them for a visually pleasing view.

This work has taken part in Aquarelle Pyrénéenne, Alibi, France 2023.
